My time as a wedding videographer in this industry has been very much shaped by the people I have crossed paths with, whether they be the beautiful couples that I work with or the suppliers that I meet along the way. There are so many incredible people out there who inspire me everyday, and these are the people that deserve to be celebrated. With the launch of my new website, it seemed only right to shine a light on some of the suppliers who have made my experience the joy that it has been – and the first feature could only be the brilliant Susie!

Susie is a West Sussex based wedding & event planner and is someone very much admired within the industry. I could tell very quickly when I first met her (having coffee and cake at the farm!) that she was driven, and it has been incredible to see her brand grow over the years that I’ve now known her. With nearly a decade of experience as a wedding and event planner behind her, Susie knows what it means to plan an awesome occasion, and last year I had the joy of working with her on not one but two weddings! Her passion for her work is tangible, her attention to detail meticulous, and she’s just an all-round superstar of a woman!

And with that said, I couldn’t resist asking a few questions about her journey so far!…

How did you get started in the wedding industry?

Nearly 10 years ago now whilst planning my own and running my own venue styling

business. I decided to start my training as a wedding and event planner a couple of years later.

What do you love most about what you do?

Working with such happy, special occasions whether that be a wedding or celebration for

someones birthday or anniversary and making some amazing friends along the way!

What inspires you?

Surely I inspire everyone…it’s in the name?! On a serious note, I think the most inspiring thing

is supporting and guiding people on a journey for a very special occasion and becoming such a

big part of their day.

What have been the biggest turning points in your journey?

Meeting and working with a whole array of people from Premiership footballers, TV stars right through

to small intimate weddings and each and everyone of them has been an absolute pleasure to be a part of.

Over the years it has ignited my passion for the type of events I love to work with and they are marquee/

outdoor events and exclusive use venues where you can really create your clients visions and bring so

many personal elements of their life in to the occasion.

What are your hopes for the future with Inspired by Susie Evans?

I have been on a rollercoaster journey the last 12 months and as a result, invested so much time and

money into additional training, coaching and learning that I am now building a community within the

industry by sharing my knowledge, skills and experience through various workshops and

networking events.

Any final words of advice?

The wedding and events industry is such a fast paced one and full of many amazing creative people –

always follow your dream and think outside the box, believe in yourself and your dreams will come true!
