Early last year I began working with a local charity called the East Sussex Association of Blind and Partially Sighted People, or ESAB for short. They are a family of incredible people, all of which go above and beyond everyday to improve the lives and independance of vision impaired people in the County. Playing even a small part of this charity really is the greatest honour, and since being there I have been humbled and inspired by the stories of the people I have met- so much so that I wanted to create a series of films to help raise the awareness of what it means to be vision impaired.

In this next film of the ESAB sight loss series I introduce you to Dan:

Dan suffered secondary damage to his eyes shortly after a course of radiotherapy and at first struggled to come to terms with his sight loss. Through ESAB’s support and training, he was able to learn new ways to cope and now has a new lease of life, getting out and about with his guide dog and attending regular social groups. He really does have a kind spirit and you’ll see in this film just how beautiful of a person he is!
